No Go Daddy!

How GoDaddy Suspended my Cash Parking Account

Godaddy V Father Dave Round 4

Round 4

After receiving no real response at all to the questions raised in my November 27 email, I tried once again. This time I also tried to find out the name of the person I was corresponding with, in an attempt to humanise the situation somewhat.

Thank you for replying but could you please answer my question.

Again, I ask you to please clarify for me that I have understood the situation correctly:

  1. 1. I have been found guilty of conducting fraudulent activity on my account

  2. 2. As punishment, my account has been cancelled/ suspended and my earnings have been withheld.

  3. 3. I am not permitted to defend myself against these accusations

As I say, a simple 'yes' will suffice to confirm that I have understood the situation.

I would also appreciate it if you could include your name in this correspondence and, assuming that I have understood the situation correctly, I would appreciate it if you could give me the name and contact details of someone in management with whom I can discuss the company terms and conditions.

sincerely,

Rev. David B. Smith

Two days later I received the most comprehensive communication from Godaddy that I have ever received from them - comprehensive, but not remotely helpful.

Dear Rev. David B. Smith,

Your Cash Parking account was found to have violated our Terms of Service. We are unable to say if you did or did not do so intentionally with the intent to defraud us, only that the violation was significant enough for our ad service provider to suspend payment for your domains. Yes, your account has been suspended and the revenue earned by that service is being withheld. As previously stated, the provider of our ad service brought this to our attention and decided they will not be making payment for your domains. As Google will not be providing funds for this service, we will not have payment to share with you. Your account has not been cancelled as you suggest in point #2 - only suspended. Therefore, we previously advised you that to prevent the Cash Parking service from renewing automatically, you will need to cancel the service. You may contact support@godaddy.com if you need assistance cancelling the Cash Parking service.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to change this decision. Again, this decision was made by Google, our ad service provider. They will not pay us for your domains, so we cannot continue your service. We certainly cannot share revenue that we are not receiving for your domains. If you wish to discuss this directly with Google, you are welcome to email them at adsense-support@google.com.

Regards,

GoDaddy.com Cash Parking Team

I frankly found the logic of this person (whose name was again withheld, despite my request) to be quite confused.

Was I being accused of anything or not? The emails seems to be at pains to suggest that I was not being accused of anything. If that were the case though, why was I being penalised, such that my account was being suspended and all my earnings withheld?

The implication of the author was that Google had accused me and not Godaddy, but this didn't make sense at all. If Google was finding me guilty of something, why wasn't Google taking this up with me, and why was I being penalised, not by them but by Godadd?

I sensed that I was already pushing my luck with this correspondence, as I had been told clearly that the entire matter of my guilt and punishment were not up for debate. Even so, I thought there might be further avenue to as for clarification.
